On the way into work this morning approaching a left hand junction, the same one I had this happen to me about a month ago. And low and behold it was the same bloody car as last time left hooked me! It's happened twice in over a year and it's the same guy, once can be excused as an error in judgement, twice is just taking the pee. I gave chase but I couldn't keep up with him, I'm thankful I didn't as I was fuming, I'd have ended up being arrested. I've been looking out for the car but the only time I've seen it is when he left hooks me. Arggghhh!

When I first started commuting by bike (over two years ago), I kept seeing the same car doing stupid things. It was a black Lexus saloon with a memorable personalised plate, and it would often cut me up, stop in ASLs, overtake me through junctions, etc. After a couple of months I changed my route, and one upside was not seeing this idiot every morning.

I'd forgotten about him until last month, when a sudden rush of roadworks meant I had to go back to using my old route. I'm waiting to turn right, arm-outstretched, when I get overtaken by a little sports car. I look down at the reg and thought "that rings a bell".

New car, same sh*tty driver.

It may be worth reporting the prat. True, the police most likely will do diddly squat, but you can bet that his driving's just as bad to other road users (of all vehicles!) - a few such complaints may just well see them deciding to have a chat with him. Or is that just wishful thinking??

It's amazing how you see the same people doing the same stupid things, isn't it? A while back, I had a few very close passes from the same black hatch back. I've not seen that particular munchkin for a while, but I can't say I miss him!

Definitely worth reporting him - also stick the numberplate on the internet, others may look out for him and report him too. Report each incident of bad driving separately and specifically.

EDIT: If you get a helmet cam and the police see footage of the same car with the same driver doing the same tw@ttish things over and over again, they will take action.

I recognise about ten cars, you often notice them travelling the same direction, the same time daily, I remember them for the right reasons, such as they let me out at junctions or wait and overtake properly giving me plenty of room, I always give a wave of thanks and it feels good all working together man and machine, but theres always some plonker that ruins things. Just for the sake of a couple of seconds I could of been in the back of an ambulance. After the junction there's a short climb and sometimes generally at the start of the week I get out the saddle and power up it. If I'd of done that this morning then I would of been off the bonnet, but I suppose that would be my fault for speeding up into there path in there eyes lol you need eyes .................in the back of your head! In the past I had trouble with one particular car; by chance I saw it parked near one of my colleagues houses, I mentioned this to my colleague. I never had another incident with that car. Apparently my colleague had a quiet word (along the lines that I was biding my time before going to the Police) and the guy was quite receptive to it.

More recently I have been having quite a bit of trouble with another car, I spoke to the Police but I was reluctant to make a formal issue of it from fear of retribution. Running a little late one morning I saw the car waiting to pull out of a drive. Since then I have had nothing but text book behaviour from the driver. I did not give the Police sufficient information for them to trace the car, unless they did a lot of digging, which I doubt.

It isn't just the bad drivers that I see regularly, there is one bus on my route that I keep an eye out for, in what must be close to 100 overtakes I have never had less than the full width of my lane and I have never felt pressured while he waits to overtake. There is also the bin lorry that usually catches me on a Thursday morning at the slowest part of my big hill, he turns right at the top and always waits a good distance behind me while I creep up the hill at walking pace.
