Nothing to do with cycling, but on Thursday night I was unloading a tanker full of effluent from the cider factory. It was under 1 bar of pressure in the tanker, which was nearly empty, so I was next to the outlet pipe waiting to disconnect it. Suddenly, with no warning whatsoever, the pipe popped off the outlet valve and I suddenly found myself pretty much directly in the path of a twenty foot jet of cider sludge.;) I had to drive home absolutely wet through and reeking of shite, and I had to buy a new phone on Friday morning because I had it in my pocket at the time. It's quite funny now I think about it, I keep getting this image of two big eyes looking out of a jet of cider washings, like in a cartoon.;)

Could have been worse. It could have been real shite like the time I breeched the walls of a septic tank and found myself up to my neck in fermented toilet flushings. Despite being hosed down and having several showers and a bath it took a couple of days before I stopped reeking. My clothes were a write off.

I still gag and retch at the memory.

Yuck! :0. You couldn't wash the phone? Usually, if you take them to bits and wash them, dry them out, they're fine. Will your work pay for the phone? They should.

A few years ago I was using an electric pump to take the oil out of the sump on a printing machine when the hose came off the pump! Same result as you, I got covered in oil. Interesting.
