But the point is that there is only one star called the Sun. It happens to be located in our solar system. All the others have names that we have arbirtrarily asigned to them too. In much the same way that we only have one Earth, not many Earths.

Er, yes. That's why I said it's the Sun (capitalised), but the Sun is also a sun (not capitalised).

This is a circular argument that could rumble on 'til the death of the star known as the Sun. Everyone who expressed an opinion is therefore right (but I'm more right than benb :tongue:)

implying that the only star that was a sun was the Sun, and that every other star was a star. I was pointing out he was wrong.
