One of mine came in fifth...fortunately on an each way bet...won't have won as much as I bet I think!
I had Goonyella too, and that was the closest I got to a placing this year. Saint Are and Many Clouds both did well but faded. That's my annual visit to the bookie's over for another year!

Yes I had Goonyella....bookies paying on 5 places :smile:
Can never figure out how much I get back...£2 e/w at 20-1...

Some years ago my then boss organised an office sweepstake for the Grand National. The two horses he pulled out of the hat came in first and second!! He was quite embarrassed... I think his winnings were converted to booze on the next office outing.

Very exciting finish this year.
 
Mrs Marmion has just informed me that the owners of a couple of horses at the yard where we keep our old nag have a couple of runners in the National - one of them is 2nd favourite, The Last Samurai...I might stick a groat on them.

Michael O'leary, of Ryanair fame has now won the cheltenham Gold Cup and the National in the space of a few weeks.
