Is it true that mixing them in a session can make you feel worse the next day or is it something I've imagined being told?

I don't get to practise enough to find out for myself.

I think having done it many a time it's down to the amount you drink and you're perception of the previous night.

EG. me and a mate drank 12 pints each a few weeks ago one Friday night when we were out. We were pretty merry and the last round he was bagged up and didn't want anymore beer. I bought a bottle of red wine and we finished the bottle heading home pished. Next day he was dying and blamed the wine. IMO though if he had anothe couple of pints instead he would just have been the same

Much obliged Fnaar. It's really thoughtful of you to go to so much trouble on our behalf.

what happened to the .3

That would have drove me mental. I would have to have went back down the road and back to get it to the 50.

I know, I know... I never look at the distance till I've brought the bike inside... keep it as a 'surprise' to myself (my life is rather dull)
Looked at it, and was tempted to go back out again, but my knee was hurting a bit.

Step one accomplished... nice big glass of Rioja on the go... off to pub at 8pm. If you don't hear from me again, you'll know my experiment worked only too well.
