So I've just joined up and looking forward to heading to one of the meet ups.
Anyone on here part of the group??
If so what meet do you suggest would be a good one to go to as a newbie?

What should I expect from the group meet and is there any sort of things I should know before going like specific rules etc .

Any help appreciated. Hope to see some of you there.

Simple enough...

1st RULE: You do not talk about GRCM.
2nd RULE: You DO NOT talk about GRCM
3rd RULE: If someone says "stop" or goes limp, taps out, the ride is over.
4th RULE: Only two guys to a ride.
5th RULE: One ride at a time.
6th RULE: No shirts, no shoes.
7th RULE: Rides will go on as long as they have to.
8th RULE: If this is your first ride night at GRCM, you HAVE to ride.

They look like a nice bunch. Not a club rider but if I was they look like the sort I would join. Have fun

I only ever went on a dozen or so outings myself. @phantasmagoriana is a regular, I believe.

The faster rides are generally clearly marked as such. If in doubt, just ask in the ride post discussion.

Yes, I'm a regular. For newbies, the Tuesday Toddle evening rides are good - not fast and fairly short (usually about 25 miles - lights essential now!), no one gets left behind and we regroup regularly. If you're into hills, we'll be starting up a regular Thursday evening hill circuit in the West End again in the next couple of weeks. There's usually at least one ride on at the weekend, too.

Most people who post a ride will say what sort of distance/pace they expect on the meetup page, but if they don't and you're unsure just post a message. It's a friendly bunch and there are a good variety of rides, from short/flat/slow to long/fast/hilly.

That's excellent thank you for the information I am already committed to a Greenock run tomorrow with my mate but I will look out for next Tuesdays ride and come alone

I am a member of the Glasgow Road Cycling meetup, like a few of my fellow Belles on Bikes  @phantasmagoriana :hello:
Been to a few Tuesday toddles, great fun among friendly folks.
Some of the activities they have planned look excellent and I will definitely be along to some rides in the near future. If I don't take to much out of myself tomorrow on the Greenock cycle and the Mrs hasn't made any plans then I may just come along tomorrow night
