My Outlook Express is groaning with folders containing messages going back years, some of them (due to exporting/importing/transferring from other computers) riddled with duplicates.
Not only is this a big waste of HD space, I'm sure it slows everything down. It all came to a head when it did that 'compacting folders' business, and seized up half way through. Twice. Which set me searching for a program that would kill off duplicates.
After a couple of false starts, I found http://www.topalt.com/download?id=7 - I pass it on with no strings attached. If you try it and your pc blows up and your cat gets mumps, don't blame me. All I can say is it worked like a dream and cleared out a load of crap from my system.
