Greenwich & Woolwich Foot Tunnels - Olympic 2012

I cycle from Blackheath to C. Wharf as one of my semi regular commutes. See greenwich cyclists' website they have been hot on this. http://www.greenwichcyclists.org.uk/

Your best bet is via the woolwich ferry - quite a diversion but better than tower bridge.

Lewisham - Blackheath - across the heath - through the standard - up towards woolwich towards QEH down to the ferry.

On the other side it is quite a quiet route but the road surface is shocking be warned.

This is shocking that Greenwich Council will close both tunnels with total disregard for anyone using them.

The again it isn't a shock really is it? Local authority in total balls up never heard that before

My understanding is that it ist he lifts that will be closed for the whole period but the tunnel's themselves will be open most of the period.

Greenwich Cyclists are pushing for a ramp on the stairs to make carrying up the stairs easier
