Does NZ have a problem with beaver fever in the creeks like Canada?

I've been drinking from Canadian creeks for more than 40 years and never had the fever.

As I mentioned elsewhere though, I have eaten beaver.

For most city folk, the best way to avoid Cryptosporidium is to stop kissing your dog.

Some of them have giardia ... So watch for that. Having said that, the ones in the deep south are generally pretty good (I drank from them when I was down there, and had no problems...)
