Hi Robert and welcome to CC from a fellow Ayrshire member, a bit further north in Largs.
Largs to Ayr or vice versa is one of my favourite rides (depends which way the wind is blowing!), with the train providing the transport in the opposite direction. Keep an eye on the Informal Rides board if you fancy joining one of the rides (no-one gets left behind is rule #1).
