Just to say hello one and all. Been lurking for a while now and this is my first post. I commute daily, usually a 14 mile round trip in and around Norwich (anyone else here?). Not a bad place to be, feels like the smallest "city" in the uk. Still has it's fair share of knuckle draggers who'd rather put you in a wheel chair than wait ten seconds for a suitable gap to get past, their time will come 
Was a dyed in the wool biker for many years and still am to a certain extent, I've found the same priciples of planning and observation apply to cycling too...I love the freedom and satisfaction of cycling, and strangely no matter how knackered I am, I always come back for more the next day!
