Nice extended commute this morning, main stretches in Nottingham were definitely 'gritty', which is a good thing as the frost on the cars was quite bad...glad I am not in north Yorks or the Highlands judging from the photos in the press

XCWeather isn't really any better than the Metoffice, just slightly different in look and prediction. I look at both of these regularly and have done over a long period of time since my work depends to some degree on the weather.
The best one I've seen so far is Meteogroup - they do an iPhone app called WeatherPro. If you pay for the premium service, you get to see radar that differentiates between rain/snow/hail/etc. It also tends to be more accurate than either of the above on their hourly forecast for a few hours ahead.

Minus two in Swindon this morning, no chance of any snow and ice not a real problem, the real problem is people who think a letter box sized clear spot near the dashboard on their frozen windscreen is sufficient to drive safely, with no thought for the side and rear windows.

Just dusted off the hybrid and am planning on using that until the minus temperature figures bugger off.
28mm tyres,full guards and won't be quite as upset if I break it compared to breaking my Secteur.
Oh but it's sooooo heavy and the upright riding position feels weird now,still got over an hour to change my mind
