I'm sure I heard somewhere that of the two American bears, one can climb trees and the other can push trees over!!!
Either way, a tree isn't going to help much.
Makes me glad to live in a country where fierce predators start with badgers, then foxes, then hedgehogs.

You forgot the wild boar.

Oh, and don't underestimate the ferocity of badgers.

Some friends of Mrs Gti emigrated to Australia and Mrs Gti was quite envious. For several months we kept receiving pictures of the kids frolicking on the beach, barbecues, all that stuff, then it went quiet. Next thing we heard was that they were back home and had taken jobs in Cumbria, only the wettest county in England! It turned out that someone they knew had been scoffed by a great white shark and they had suddenly realised that Australia is full of animals that can eat humans! I guess all the pictures were their attempt to convince themselves they had made the right move.....

That's simply a myth - Grizzly's can climb trees too! If I was that guy I'd of been heading for the highest branches very quickly, even though I probably can't climb trees very well, I think you'd learn very quickly in that situation.
