What a rip off! Just checked Tesco and you get an 8 pack of 4 finger kitkats for £3.50.

I’ve stayed in the Shard, it’s a lovely hotel but all Mini bars are a total rip off. Don’t buy it.
There is a shop about 2 minutes away from the shard which will sell one for £1.
We sneaked a bottle of champagne into our room too. No one cared if you brought stuff with you.

irrespective of hotel, anything in-room is likely to be a rip-off vs. retail

ting and gong are ok for the views if you get a good table, and you get shangri-la circle points

Can't remember which one but I once stayed in a hotel that had a bucket of ice on the room service menu for £20. There were ice machines on alternating floors! I actually called room service to see if it came with a bottle of wine in it or perhaps you kept the bucket. No, it was just a plastic bucket of ice.
