Never even noticed any static and I've been grinding daily for donkey's years.
My favourite standby beans are Sainsburys Continental blend.

Blind tests have shown that hi-fi snobs cannot tell the difference between the sound produced by some of the gadgets they swear by.

Blind tests have shown that choir snobs often cannot tell the difference between trebles and girl sopranos.

Blind tests have shown that organ snobs often cannot tell the difference between pipe organs and computer organs.

Blind tests have shown that wine snobs are sometimes rating the taste based on snob value not taste.

I would be very interested to see some of the views expressed in this thread subjected to blind testing

Whilst there's some truth in the above, that's still quite a big stretch if you are indeed suggesting all coffee tastes the same

Funnily enough I was reading about a blind test of coffee earlier, an Aldi one came out on top.

Reviews on the site now say they have changed the winning formula and it is no longer as good.

M&S Italian if it hasn't been menched already is great coffee.

Try and find a local roaster and buy it as freshly roasted as you can get. The difference is quite remarkable from stuff that's been roasted several months ago.

But that's me pulling a fast one over some of those expressing views. Just occasionally, in-laws in Yemen manage to send a package of green beans, "fresh from the mountains". Roast 'em yourself and grind ... to whatever your taste. Sorry, folks ... unbeatable.

And, sorry again folks, I'm not sharing. Far too good . [And far too rare :-(]

Ok, got my first couple of packs to try, just supermarket own for now.

Any tips for getting the best out of it?

So far I know to -

Warm the pot..
Not use boiling water..
Let the coffee brew for a few minutes..

And that's it.
