Grr Ninja

At the top of a road I passed a cyclist and thought their lights weren't good but a that poin its almost daylight undr the street lights so so I never thought any more about it. After several red lights I was at the bottom of the hill (about 1/2 a mile later) and stopped at yet another red, then who should undertake and rlj (missing my bars by inches), the same ninja. The lights went green and I soon overtook giving them plenty of room (its a 3 lane road there, so I gave them a lanes berth) as they looked erratic but I was stopped at red yet again, surpringly they didn't undertake; then I realised why, they had hopped up onto the pavement and the ped crossing. Its a bit of a detour, so when they hopped back on the road they were just in front of me at the other side of the junction, they were weaving all over the place, it suddenly goes black (no street lights). When the street lights come back they were just a few metres in front of me; it was a good job I slowed down (I could just make out their pedal reflectors, nowt else). The next lights were green but the road narrows from 3 lanes to 1 (the two outside lanes become right turn bus lanes) before it widens again to two; so I held back again. The street lights dissappear again but its not as dark, which is a good thing because ninja suddenly swerves (its a steep downhill so this is a fast move) in front of a car. The driver wasn't going fast so managed to avoid them but they then started to berate the driver! They then swerved across again on to the pavement to avoid the red light at the bottom of the hill, went round the right bend (good job there was no peds; then continued along the pavement for about 100m before jumping off on to the road again. To my amazement they actually stopped at the next red (the only one they could have jumped more safely, safely is a relative term!). Ive 400m before the next set of lights so I pass them again (again giving a lanes berth), the lights were green so I left them quite a bit.

I though Lemin (natural selection, etc) but then I thought about it further (leaving aside the rlj and pavement cycling) perhaps they did have lights, it just that they weren't working (or had stopped working) and they didn't know; maybe I should have said something!

The other night I was descending Anerley Hill at speed, and passed a bloke on a MTB with no lights, doing around 30mph, past a car waiting at a side junction. I didn't have any trouble spotting the ninja, but I did wonder whether the car was waiting for both of us, or just for me and my LAZER BEAM OV DETH.
