To be fair to Lee, I read it as somewhat 'tongue in cheek' and didn't take a fence.
I personally wouldn't leave my M6R locked up outside, but that's because I can stash it in the building, which annoys the hell out of one of my colleagues. Which encourages me to do it all the more

I was just thinking a Brompton or similar folder would be a great bike for a uni student. You could just take it to class with you. Beats any Tesco BSO you usually see them on even though they are quite pricey.
