Coming in this morn it was pissing with rain, not quite torrential but getting there

Got a puncture going through some glass. Although the glass surprised me, it shouldn't have as I noticed it last night GRRRR

No worries, I thought, I have a spare tube. Get off the bike, go under tree, wheel off, tyre off, tyre checked, old tub in bag, new tube in, tyre on, blow up, get to 80psi and think I'll just have a few more blows to get near the magic century and whack! valve breaks GRRRR (vittoria 700x23c, I have had this happen before)

so, old tub out of bag, find p*%$£&re, sand down, apply glue set to once side, tyre off new tub in bag, back to repair and glue seems dry, apply patch, wait for 100 elephants, test patch, slides off GRRRR

notice that sack is open and drip is running straight in off tree GRRRR

start repair process again, get to test, new patch seems OK, inflate tube to check, big gush from side of patch, try to mend wile patch on, not work GRRRRR

start repair process again, get to test, new patch slides off, work GRRRRR

Decide to give up and walk to nearest station about 1 mile away. Put everything back into bag, but wet. Path is a ud bath GRRRR

End up at work 2 hours after setting off, soaked and moody.

GRRRRRR GRRRRR to the p*%$£&re fairy

Ah bummer! B)

smile all you like, you know its coming to a wheel near you B)

just repaired the p*%$£&re in the dry, worked like a charm

It is amazing how well prepared one can be for this eventually but still fail miserably to overcome the blasted effects

On my next commute I can guarantee I won't get a rear wheel puncture.

I always carry two spare tubes; it was a boon back in the days when I rode my MTB to work, as the valve once ripped off the tube I'd just repaired and was trying to re-inflate.

Real bummer though. You feeling any cheerier yet ?

Thought I had a p*ncture this morning, but it turned out the rear wheel rim had split.

Need a new wheel now!

Not that I remember.

Special ride today, hope I make it ok.

The rear wheel has no valve at all as im using a special tyre for the first time.Takes no air.

It's called a green tyre.

I took a look at their website. For racing slicks the weight was not bad, about at the same as Shwalbe M+ + decent tube. They also have a psi of 100 and bar of 7, so presumably they are pre-filled?

Easy to fit?

What's the ride like?
