Grrr....scummy bike light thief

So there I am, rocking up at my midwife appointment today. 37 weeks pregnant, 3 weeks to go, looking like a heifer on a bicycle but still cycling!!! I lock the bike up outside, take off the computer but leave the front light as I can never get it off properly...and when I come out, some SCABBER has stolen my front light.

Really not happy.

Can anyone recommend a front light? There are some blindingly bright ones out there and I fancy a good one.

I know a brilliant (literally) light going for £10 but I'm not telling you where because you'll get it nicked!

Oh please, please, you have to take that story to your local rag so that they can run a piece on it, complete with photo of you looking sad and pregnant....:mrpig:

Scumbags. Let's hope they slip carrying it and in a freak accident it goes somewhere sideways and they get a taste of childbirth in reverse.

And jolly good for you! 3 weeks eh? Plus aren't first ones always a little late. Are you feeling blooming, or just wishing it was all done with?

I'm sure you don't look like a heifer at all.

I've seen a lot of people on here swear by Tesco 3W torches...

Well I've got a nice cateye front light, and can just take it off dead easy.

3 weeks to go???? Blimey, forget about the robbin bastard and chill!!!

Oh Cathryn, forget the light...something horrible will happen to the scrote who stole it, the universe will take care of that I'm sure.

:smile::bravo::mrpig::bravo::bravo:for still cycling!

I like your interpretation of 37 weeks as "3 weeks to go", by the way...because 37 weeks in my house meant "any minute now"..:ohmy:

Take it easy babymama, and enjoy the peace. It won't last!:mrpig::laugh:

Arch had the best suggestion - get your local paper involved and you might get a freebie from your LBS!

Well done with the cycling, I was pretty fed up at 37 weeks, although still swam every week with the first, even when he passed his due date!

Good luck with the light and the Bubs!

Thats what I told myself when someone stole my bike, The headset will come loose when going down a hill, and they'll come off the thing.... (the headset was actually loose, I used to have a a-headset without the star clamp top bolt thing)

Thank you everyone for the moral support and the good wishes!! I'm feeling okay actually...heifer-like but it's (almost) all bump rather than enormous fatness everywhere so somehow still feel relatively foxy.

Arch, it would make a fabulous local paper story, wouldn't it!!!

Thanks for the light recommendations, I'll get purchasing this weekend. I just wanted to air my angst really amongst like minded people. What a rat!

Sorry to hear of your light problems cathryn they will nick anything that isnt bolted down thieving t**ts.

I also have the Electon Nano 9 as my backup light and it is a nice light for the money and easy to attach and detach and small enough to fit in your pocket as well.

I assume that is the price you looking at as my main lights are AY UPs but you probably dont want to spend that sort of money.

Yes, but you must insist on a photo, and practise your sad look, holding the bike. Or get them to snap you looking at a photo album, they like that cliche too...

If you're anything like my sister (and you are similar build I think), you'll lose a lot of it once the bump is out. She was looking sickeningly trim when I first met Oli, at a month old.

Gosh, is this our first CC baby (I mean to a CC mum, not a dad....). Just say the word if you want anything knitted in CC colours...

Second the good wishes to you, and here's hoping the thief gets a persistant rash in an irritating and embarassing place.

Arch speaketh the sense regarding the Tesco 3W LED torch. You just need a way of attaching it securely to a light bracket , which I assume you still have. Black gaffer tape is your friend here.
