Second the good wishes to you, and here's hoping the thief gets a persistant rash in an irritating and embarassing place.

Arch speaketh the sense regarding the Tesco 3W LED torch. You just need a way of attaching it securely to a light bracket , which I assume you still have. Black gaffer tape is your friend here.

Mainly I remember you mentioning it...

I'm by no means the only one. I got the idea from Chuffers, IIRC.

They are good. Chew through batteries though, you need decent rechargables...

Keep on going Cathryn - the end is almost in sight... and its worth it. I wish I had returned to cycling when I was pregnant - though I doubt I would be able to get on the bike by 37 weeks!!! (I had hip problems - and I used to get overtaken by elderly people ... I'm being serious!!).

As to the light thief - scum of the earth... may he be surrounded by a flock of moths when he tries to use it.

I've got the Nano 9 and Nano 1 - I find it quite good for seeing in unlit places (but I'm considering an upgrade to a Hope 1)- doesn't fall off its bracket, and fits in my bag/pocket easily. And it doesn't usually get switched on by accident in the black hole that is my pannier.

Thanks everyone...a Nano 9 is on its way to me...along with a track pump for my dad and a computer for my mum for christmas. I'm ridiculously excited about getting a bicycle parcel after the endless baby parcel deliveries!!

What a rotten thing to happen. Glad to hear you're well Cathryn, look forward to hearing about the happy event.

Thank you everyone for the moral support and the good wishes!! I'm feeling okay actually...heifer-like but it's (almost) all bump rather than enormous fatness everywhere so somehow still feel relatively foxy.
In which case we need a current picture.

Bad luck about the light Cathryn, never mind that though, 3 WEEKS TO GO!!!!!

I though I was a cyclist, but you take the biscuit. Tell me other women looked at you in awe as you pedalled along to the hospital?

People tend to look as if I'm mad. I spotted a bloke talking in sign language to his wife the other day as I was at some lights and I'm pretty confident he was telling her about me, which made me laugh. I am also the slowest, most breathless cyclist in the whole of Yorkshire...it's hilarious.

I tell you what's great though - my midwife, consultant and cardiologist have all been nothing but supportive about me continuing to cycle. No-one has ever said "Oh, you should stop now." They've all just said "Well done, keep going." and I really apreciate that.

Yes, it's not like you are doing the TDF or anything, just gentle exercise, which if sensible is very good for you and baby.

Good for you, Cathryn... and horribly freak accident involving rotten eggs, a can of 3-in-1 oil and some garden shears to the thief.:evil:

My Wife was still swimming up to about a week to go (IIRC) with our first... and we took a car for a test drive when she was 10 days overdue... that was a classic look on the car salesman's face when he found this fact out... I don't think I've ever seen a man look so nervous!!:biggrin:

Keep going, and good luck for D-Day!! (Delivery Day)

Great to hear your still pedalling Cathryn, I got advice about my sister cycling while pregnant and it was very nearly all positive - I think the only doubts were expressed by a couple of blokes. She didn't do any cycling at all, but she could have .

Good luck with it all!

Don't tempt me...I'm hankering after the tour de france baby grow!! He'll be 7 months in july, I can see me giving in to temptation before then!!

Reminds me of when WCMnr was a baby (he's 21 now..) watching the Tour de France on Channel 4 with a baby-sized Z-Team cap on his head. I still have the cap

Indeed, and I remember reading that something a lot of women forget is that labour is called labour for a reason - it's hard physical work. The fitter you are, the better you'll cope and the less likely you are to get exhausted enough for it to become a problem.
