I saw my first recumbent bike this evening. I was kinda excited and interested in who maybe using one, as they seem quite eccentric. Maybe it was someone from here I thought. Just passing the war musuem I gave him a tinkle of my bell and a jolly wave 'n' smile and got look of death back! he did have a face mask on. I was in a jolly mood for a change, even though been drenched by drizzle, and thought I wold pass on the jollyness in this crappy weather. but no  Shame really as I wanted to say hi and see why he rode one when we stopped at hte lights, instead he just cycled on past me and over the white lines. oh well. He did nearly get squashed by a bus later on though when he pulled over .

on another note, my bloody camera is playing up! grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

If there's one thing I hate it's unremittingly cheerful people trying to talk to me when I'm out on my recumbent.

Not me, I'm one of the cheerful ones, and I haven't been riding this week. Been skating all day in the park all week, not enough spare energy to cycle commute too.

lol well i can guarente that i'm not often cherpy, I'm more likely to be cusing and swearing. It's a shame really, oh well. Maybe he thought i was being rude or something. just never seen one and, (just woke up so prob written this already), it looked kinda fun and i thought the type of person using one would be enthusatic to talk about it. oh well.

guy at work skates everywhere, he's had some near misses and finds cars beep at him. he was in berlin or somewhere in germany recently for some mad skating thing.

I'm always smiley when people see me, mainly because I'm having so much fun. Oh, unless it's at the top of a steep hill, in which case I'm red in the face and desperately trying to breathe!

I think- if I wasn't already grumpy- I would become grumpy if I rode a recumbent. What with everyone pointing at me, asking me the same questions all the time and waving at me when i'm on the way to the off-license etc.

A cycling friend at work and I were discussing recumbents the other week, and he said that they just screamed "Geography Teacher" !

My geography teachers at school were all pretty grumpy blokes, so maybe that explains the guy you saw !!

What's his name? I probably know the guy. I would have been in Germany if it wasn't for our baby being born. It was the Berlin marathon (inline skating version). Last time I did 1:18 for a 20.2mph average.
