Guardian Thursday Quiz

No quiz so far this week either. I think I did read in one of the comment threads on the Guardian that the guy who does it was off sick, so hopefully his daschund (or perhaps Ron from Sparks) is looking after him.

Yeah I was looking for it too, but only ever got the picture of the Bee.

Oh well, maybe they will have a 'Roll - Over' and we'll be playing for 45, 60 or even 75 points in a few weeks! 🤣

Yes. Although there is little cross-over between the two quizes, sometimes a question appears on the Thursday Guardian quiz which gives the answer to the Friday BBC one. Some may regard this as cheating. Some may define it as research.

But it's not the 'Friday' BBC one, that's what I'm saying. It's done early/mid evening on Thursday night (in the latest case 19.00), but the Guardian one also appears on Thursday at about 11am

Ah, that has changed then. I remember the Goode Olde Days when you had to wait for sometimes 10:00 or later for the BBC one. Not all the time, but occassionally.

Also I wanted to say I have had lots of very kind messages from people who noticed the Thursday quiz was missing and that I haven’t been on the website. I had to take a step back from work for a couple of weeks for personal reasons, and will just tentatively be doing a few days here and there, like today, for a while, as I get back into the swing of it. Think of the quiz as being on more of a Colin Baker-style hiatus rather than having had a Sylvester McCoy-style cancellation – I plan to bring the Thursday quiz back later in the year.

1. Split the year into two halves, taking the start for the second half from when it starts again. Two separate scores.
2. Just wait until the quiz restarts, and pick up where you left off.

There's lactose intolerant people on here, and some who just don't like cheese.
