I know a bit about both but not expert at either .
I like to think bikes are like guitars...they need setting up well, the cables are like strings..they stretch and go rusty, the frame is the body the stem the neck etc...
I think a cheap bike well fitted(set up) will ride better than an expensive bike poorly set up. I played some very expensive 'vintage' guitars in my time and some of them were horrid to play, whereas my 1980's squier strat is a dream to play.
FWIW I think my Bianchi c2c alu carb is akin to my mex classic strat ( I modded it into oblivion so its better than a usa one now) or my Ibanez RG 570 from the 80's. If I upgraded to a full carbon bianchi perhpas that would be akin to th eupper end usa strats.
My dawes galaxy is a work horse...so I'd compare it to say a 1980's strat that has all kinds of dents in it but you can rely on to deal with any situation, stay in tune, and age well...it's your go to axe/ride.
