Thanks, all advice much appreciated.. While your practising the E shape, It'll really pay dividends for later when it comes to bar chords to also practise the E shape using your 2nd 3rd and 4th fingers, although it may seem difficult at first it will be well worth it.
Plus it gets you used to using your pinkie. Thanks, all advice much appreciated.
I've got the first half of Parisienne Walkways down. It only took about a year... Keep at itI can now strum "Horse with no name".
Badly. I mean really badly. So badly Mrs SJ was shouting at me to "Stop that awful bloody racket" from two rooms away.
But it's progress![]()
Or you could headphone out of your amp?Lol. I get around that by using my electric guitar off amp in the same room whilst the missus is watching her soaps, works a treat....Or i sometimes use an 'Amplug2 Classic Rock' with earphones; suffers a bit of deafening feedback now an then but does the job quite well.

I have just bought an electric guitar and amp, only a cheapo (Rockjam, £66 on an Amazon flash sale, reduced from £129) so I'll have to dig the phones out and use them. Addictive this guitar playing, no matter how bad you are.I can do but the headphone wire is a little short tbh, with the Amplug the lead fits easily behind the guitar and out the way, although i can't get so many presets as i can with the amp.
