Went to Chester yesterday and had a look in a place called Dawsons. Alas no guitars I wanted to try although there was a Taylor way out of my price range, and I only found one Ibanez acoustic out.
Bit gutted I never stumbled across this one; http://www.backalleymusic.co.uk/contents/en-uk/d314_Store_Location_Chester.html as they have Washburn, Takamine, Ibanez and Seagull all of which I wouldn't mind trying, although I did like my friends Washburn. No Tanglewoods though.

Nice Tiny Terror bass & cab.

I have the Orange Tiny Terror guitar head & and Orange 2x12 cab.

I also use a Marshall Class 5, Marshall PW50 (Paul Weller Ltd model) 2x12, Mesa Boogie Transatlantic head & I have a broken down Fender tranny amp in the loft somewhere.

My bass playing is poor to P1$$ Poor & my guitar only mediocre but I enjoy it when I can (which is very rarely, 2 year old etc).

I have only 3 bass guitars, two Epiphones, a Ltd edition Explorer & Flying V bass guitars.
Got these from Thomann.de in Germany, great price, great service & quick too for overses delivery, can't fault 'em.
I have a Dan Armstrong Re issue 'Plexi' bass too, to match my guitar.

My guitars are about to see a small cull due to family commitments but will have plenty left.

PRS Custom 22 20th Anniversary
PRS SC 245 57/08 Ltd
Fender Custom Shop Strats x3 (various colours & spec)
Fender Mexican Strat (Bridge humbucker).
Gibson Les Paul Custom (Ltd Edition)
Duesenberg DTV Outlaw
Dan Armstrong 'Plexi' 1971/72 vintage
2Tek Custom Telecaster
Takamine acoustic.

2 of the above are up for sale.

I probably don't deserve to have such a collection as I am not a gigging or gifted musician but they bring me joy so it's good enough reason to me.

All bought at a time when people could get a mortgage too.

I'm not sure Vai did the classical bits either, there were a few guitarists involved if my memory serves me right.
It's great fun though!
Steve Vai played both parts of the duel. Bill Kanegiser played much of the classical stuff throughout the film, Ry Cooder did the slide bits.
Oh to be able to play like SV:wub::wub::wub: Been harbouring small crush on Steve Vai for a number of years now. I'm learning Jiboom at the moment.

Thanks for that, although that's not the name I expected, my grey matter being what it is these days!
I'll be honest, I'm not a great Steve Vai fan. I loved Passion and Warfare when it came out and I admire the man's technical skill, but musically, he leaves me cold.

He told my guitar teacher that he was talented and that he should teach. We love our guitar teacher. He's about 12 (he's actually 25) but he's a fantastic guitarist and a brilliant teacher.

Passion & Warfare ain't bad but his first solo album Flex-able was better and check out his playing on David Lee Roth's "Eat em and Smile" plus his stunning work on "stunt guitar" with uncle Frank. Impossible guitar parts and Light blue Hair

I liked the stuff he did with DLR, 'Skyscraper' was on continually on my cassette player (remember them?) in my car
Again, considered heresy in some circles, but I never really 'got' Zappa either!

+1 for Zappa, never 'got it' but then I don't get Vai or Satriani either.

Bought Passion & Warfare just 'cause of all the hullabaloo, now gathering dust.

I don't FEEL anything from uber technical players.

Maybe I am stuck in da blues.
