I wasn't really angry, I just wanted to know why he had beeped me, so I could correct his misconception.

Some twit did that to me approaching a big roundabout in Brighton. Got right
behind me, then " b-e-e-e-e-e-p" on his horn. I caught him up as he was trying to park. I just pulled into his space and waited for him to wind down the window.

"why did you beep me?"
- you were all over the road, wobbling (I wasn't, but I was in the correct lane for turning right, whereas he thought all bikes should be in the gutter)
"so you think bibbing your horn helped me to not wobble?"

Then it all got a bit heated and I shouted at him I'm afraid.

When I was cycling in my youth it was common place to be shouted at by all and sundry, pedestrians a lot of the time.

"Get off and Milk it" was the most common

Cycling along the other night, straight stretch of road, plenty of space to overtake but yet again I had a car full of youths go past very closely and shout something out the window, yet again I'm unable to hear what they say, so I just tap on my ear, hopefully one day they will realise it is hard for a cyclist to hear something being shouted when they whizz past at 60MPH.
