Cycling along in the rain car A overtakes me and immediately indicates left to pull into a space, as I move out to give him space to reverse car B overtakes me. I look up car A has decided to double park and not bother pulling in, car B decides she can't overtake after all so slams on her brakes and come to a halt millimeteres from car A with her left wing almost touching car A's right wing. The effect is a perfect metal corral for me with nowhere to go. I'm doing about 18mph in the driving rain. I slam on the brakes and lock up my legs ( I'm on a fixed thank god) and I slide to a halt with inches to spare. Driver A looks down at his feet and driver B shouts at her kids and pulls off ( the road opposite is empty, signals right and turn off.
