Haggis Tonight?

just thought id ask but are there any others who are looking forward to enjoying a haggis this evening?

Being an Englishman who lives with an Irishwoman, i dont really know too much about the Burns Night traditions but i do like Haggis.

As i was in Scotland at the end of last week and picked one up, it seems rude not to - am having it tonight, lovely!

But I will take the opportunity to play Eddi Reader's collection of Robert Burns adaptations very loudly to annoy the kids.

Likewise I'll be playing Hector Gilchrist's excellent 'Songs of Robert Burns' CD.

Went to a Burns supper last year with Hector singing, playing guitar and telling stories of Burns life.
Great stuff, shame he's not doing the same round our way this year.

Got my Macsween`s haggis in and will be making up a whisky sauce to go with it, yum yum. Might have a wee dram when I get back from football but will see. We are awaiting some news today so might not be cause for any celebration tonight

only been to one "proper" burns night supper and i have only vague recollections following lots of different single malts.

Round here a neep is what the Englandshire types call a swede. They have these strange wee radish things that they call turnips.
