I love it but if you don't like poetry or deep analysis I wouldn't go for it. I'm looking to do business and journalism at university. Not sure really what I want to do after that but I'm interested in a sandwich course i.e. a year in industry and then see what happens from there. I like writing.

lol OK then for me it's maths I dislike. I know someone who loves (and is really good at) maths and hates English whereas I am the complete opposite. Not especially for a newspaper any kind of writing gig or even PR or something I haven't really planned anything serious out.

Old thread resurrection alert.

Good thing about Half Term and freezing weather: Overtaking buses.

Took the main road this morning, as there was a lot of rain yesterday and freezing temperatures last night, and I didn't want to risk hitting ice and coming off on the cycle path through the park. Has happened before.

But it is half term, so much less traffic, and fewer people catching buses too. So it wasn't long before I caught up with the number 47, and was then stuck behind it as it dawdled into town, trying hard not to get too far ahead of its schedule. After a little while I got fed up, so glanced over my right shoulder, saw a gap, pulled out and overtook, smiling at the bus passengers as I went past.

Feels good!

Whenever I have something new to learn, I do my revision then go for a bike ride and explain it loudly to the hedges as I cycle!

Glad I'm not the only one that talks to hedges! Try talking to trees as well, some of my best ideas come after sat chatting with a tree,Yews are the best I find, full of wisdom!

Find the opposite is true. School run car drivers are some of the worse idiots on the road.

I drop my 7 yo daughter off at school twice a week, then continue to cycle to work.

Got to agree, lots of poor aggressive driving which, I am guessing, is them rushing (for some odd reason) to get to work.
