I placed an order on Tuesday with an expected delivery date of Thursday. From previous experience I was not expecting it to come in on time so just waited for a phone call (from previous experience I know this service to be awful). The only reason I used them is that they are close to where I work.

To my shock they actually phoned Thursday afternoon as I was at work I could not return the call.
So I phoned Friday morning only to be told that it hadnt come in. Then why did you phone 5 callls later was informed that the order was indeed in the store but person who knew about it had the day off.
So call back in a hour 5 hours to get a single tyre order is beyond the joke.

No matter what price this service sucks.

I always get an email notification when an order comes in. Works fine.

The person who new about it had a day off.

What a useless system. Surely, anyone in the store should be able to deal with it.

I would be writing a personal letter to the CEO of the Company.

Why not just buy elsewhere if you have issues! Personally I've never had a problem with C&C

What are you trying to buy, some obscurity?

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Usually I go into mine and someone spends 20 minutes finding where the other person has put the order. That's if the order is there.

Hmm ... not good store organisation.

However. On the other hand they're local and price competitive as I've a British Cycling discount.

As local as any national chain store owned by anonymous capitalists can be... and price competitive as long as you realise that discount is funded by not contributing to local bike projects like most bike shops do through the Bike Hub scheme, so you have to either pay your local clubs more or they do less than they could otherwise.

The email notification didn't work for me. At least twice, it was sent at the forecast time before the item had arrived in store.

Always been great for me . speak as you find and I can not knock them at all

if I the item I want is not in stock and has to be ordered in then I have found the service to be good.

if its in stock then when I turn up someone has to go and find it... its not reserved as such.

I was in my nearest Halfords at the weekend (wiper blades if anyone is interested!) and I had a browse of the cycle bit as you do. I overheard an employee tell a clueless customer that one bike had a lighter chassis than the other, and then that the bike with 21 gears was faster than the one with 14*, '7 faster' to be exact!

*can't remember exactly how many gears or which bikes were involved, was busy trying to hide my despair face and pity for the clueless customer
