Got good at making the older ones disappear fast though. First ones were round last night(Saturday).

I remember apple bobbing as a brownie 50 years ago so imho it's not an American invention.

Commercialised and American influence now but I believe roots go back to pagen festival celebrated halfway between the autumn equinox and winter solstice so not exactly new. Of course most of our festivals date back to pagan times.

I notice that fireworks going off non stop from early October has deceased around here in the last few years. I'd put it down to fireworks being too expensive now and folk(idiots)spending their money on halloween crap instead. So at least some good's come out of this halloween stuff.:dry:
