Well, according to your hypothesis I think it might be a sport. Maybe. What do we think?
Hmmm. Requires physical effort, a degree of fitness, some measure of skill and co-ordination. Could well be competitive. But do you still win if you come first? ;)

You're talking crap. who says that a sport has to rely on human energy? You're thinking of exercise - the essence of sport is competition.

Is work sport then RT?

Im just wondering if the word sport isnt descriptive of the activity, but the act of fair play,as in being sporting,or sportmanship, just a way of describing being fairly competitive with others, being a sport?

Sporting - god point col...I was thinking about that in relation to football when riding home last night. A sport but often unsporting in the behaviour of all concerned.
Have a look at this for a laugh...poor old Daily Mail!

Now you've got on the ground of the moral component of sport, which gets applied outside sport but which I suppose we would call gentlemanly behaviour. I suppose then that having established that F1 is not a sport, we must accuse its drivers, when caught cheating, of being guilty of ungentlemanly behaviour as by definition they can't be guilty of unsporting behaviour.
