Handle Bar Replacement

I've noticed some corrosion right at the point my handle bars are gripped by the stem. The bike is nearly three years old and i've done about 6,000 miles on it.

What is the normal life of handle bars, ITM260 i think, if that means anything to anyone? Also any advice on what to buy to replace them would be greatly appreciated; the bike is a Thorn Cyclosportif (with very few spacers before you all start;))

Thanks

Aluminium Alloy?

If it is minor take apart, clean and put some WD40 on (a tiny tiny amount) or some other light oily stuff (3 in one?) and reassemble.

If it is badly pitted get some new ones. You do not want them to snap I can assure you.

Thanks, I took them off the pitting wasn't too bad but i figured that now was as good a time as any. Got myself some Easton Wing EA70's and changed all my cables. I rode today and all is good except the hoods are a little low on the front of the bars so I'll have to move them tonight.
