Hanging a Camelbak on the back of an IceTrike

I was thinking of getting a Camelbak or similar and was wondering how easy it is to hang it on the back of the seat. Does anyone here use one and how have you attached it?

I've done similar on the back of Pino's seat. This is a wrapped round webbing style, so presents a thin space into which a cheap Camelback-a-like can be squeezed. First I put it in a year 7 textile design project tote bag (you'll need a child in year 7 for this). Inventive use of the drawcords allowed the weight to be transferred onto the seat back. I believe @kimble has done something clever with teeny magnets on her one, so that the drinking tube doesn't dangle in the dirt yet can easily be accessed.

im planing on doing the same on my home built trike but i have a Geigerrig pack it has a pump that pressurises the water so you just squeeze the end of the tube down and the water comes out like turning on a tap, iv used it before to wash bike chains and gears and me lol

i can honestly say that i would never go back to any other pack now iv had this one for about 2 or 3 years now its been out with me in hot weather 30 to 32 c. and cold down to -21 c and its never failed me yet

I've ordered an Unbottle today. Have had a look at the seat today and reckon that the straps for the side racer pods might come in useful for securing it down behind the seat.

Go for the "Unbottle"



I have used this on several recumbents there are two ways to attach. The bag fitting between the mesh and straps on a mesh seat, or round the back of a hard shell

Firstly webbing bands work around the seat to hold in place, the other option is to use the clip to attach the bottle directly to the webbing straps of the seat if available:

The tube then runs over the seat and the shoulder of the rider. You can clip in place on your clothing, but I soon found that I would forget to unclip when getting up. Tucking it in suits me better

I don't need so much water, a bottle is enough for me, but the "regular" bottle have a cap that has always annoyed me, then I got a Camelbak bottle what a change! that cap is wonderful

My problem with a water bottle is attaching g it anywhere. My legs are so short that there isn't space on the boom for it. I have side pod bags so can't attach one on the side of the seat. I've attached it to the back of the seat but have to stop to get it. So I'm doing 20 miles without drinking as its too much hassle to stop.

I'm wanting to really start increasing distance of rides and I'm a bit worried that if I don't stop for a drink on a 40 mile ride my performance might suffer.

Cunobelin, yes when I saw the Unbottle I thought all the hooks might help with attaching.

I stick to bottles, but have seen this done on a webbing seat several times. It certainly works.
