I'm just waiting here quietly for something to happen.
I'm surprised it hasn't yet, but it will and I shall summon up the Wrath of Khan against the guilty party.

Don't say I didn't warn you!

In as much as any television series can, it's influenced a lot of people, eg........

- NASA Astronauts have credited it, for their following that path into space
- would we have touch-screens/iPads/'tablets' without the programmes??
There was a Radio 4 programme about Star Trek the other week which made similar claims. It was a good listen but... i reckon we'd have still had mobile phones, touch screens, 3d printers etc. without Star Trek.

Wasn't JRR Tolkien credited with 'introducing' mobile phones in Lord of the Rings with his 'talking glass' or whatever it was called in the book?

Star Trek was very traumatic for me as a child!

We used to watch in black and white

Then I was asked to babysit for a local couple, he was a US serviceman.. And thyroid they had a COLOUR TV!

Watched Star Trek, and all the colours were 'wrong'

I hadn't realised that I had my own ideas of the colours from watching the black and white
