Has anyone done a Mediterranean cruise with Tui? We have one planned in April, stopping in Corsica, Pompey, Naples, Vatican , Rome and Sardinia.

Pompeii is huge - took us all day - guided tour for a couple of hours then we went wandering for another four. If it's hot you'll suffer.

I'd echo similar comments about Naples - it's rough. Lots of out hotel guests said don't bother. TBH Sorrento is a bit of a tip - that was a huge shock. You'll fortunately not suffer the noise at night as you'll be back on the boat. Didn't sleep for 10 nights despite being outside of 'town'. Traffic goes on until 3am then starts again at 6am.

Amalfi coast is nice, but busy. Wouldn't do Capri again - crazy busy - and we were out of season.

Without knowing exactly what ports you're visiting its difficult to say, however I'd advise to stay away from the more obvious places wherever you go because when a cruise ship docks they will be ridiculously busy. As previously stated it's miles cheaper to buddy up with other travellers and do things independently. If you'd rather book things in advance then Viator also guarantee to get you to the next port if your private tour is late back.

Herculaneum is well worth a visit.

This^^^ it's far better preserved than Pompeii, sadly it sounds like it's not on the itinerary for the cruise, but for anyone visiting the area Sorrento is beautiful, and a visit to Capri is highly recommended, should also say that this part of Italy IME is noisy & Chaotic, just lap it all up, if you can, take part in "La Passeggiata" on an evening, the leisurely walk round, dressed to kill, which just seems to come so easily to Italians, get a gelato & people watch like the locals do

Done quite few of the TUI cruises round the med and all over Italy . I’d try and book your excursions in advance or via TUI . You can certainly do walkabouts round some of the towns, however for Pisa and such we just did another holiday to Florence and covered off all that then . Rome is another on the to do list but not from a cruise I want more time . However cruise is fine , we’ve enjoyed them . Oh as for Naples it’s a mental city but never felt unsafe , mind you helps if your wearing a Scotland or Argentina football top :-D

Yeah Naples is a bit of a dump tbh. Worth going away from the main drag to get an authentic Margarita pizza and a beer or wine for not a lot of €s. Some beautiful churches to explore there too if that's your thing.

Also if you visit Pompeii, just be aware that the restaurants outside do bump their prices up when the coach trips arrive, an 8 Euro pizza, suddenly cost 12 Euros!
