Compared to you guys down south, I seem to have very little in the way of incident (thankfully). The odd one here and there but very little to really shout about.
I dont think for one moment that its down to the good driving or better manners displayed by northern drivers. Possibly its the difference in the volume of traffic.
I travelled to France last year (by car) and the worst part of the journey was between Cambridge and Dover and the return. France in comparison was sheer bliss. Quiet roads, and when Mrs Af and I were out on bikes the space and courtesy afforded to us was brillant. If only it was like that here Mrs AF would probably take up cycling.

Someone was suggesting recently that I "got a lot of incidents", despite him riding about twice as far for the month. What he forgot about was that even with my lower mileage, I probably deal with 10-50 times as many vehicle interactions as he does on average.

BM, very true. I'd say almost all my incidents happen going home which is somewhere between 15:00 & 18:00, at 6:00-7:00 in the morning there's very few, but the number of cars that pass me over my 15 miles in the morning probably are about 2 miles worth in the afternoon & I'll be doing more miles going home.
