.the rear shimano sl-m610 indexed 2way 10sp deore rear gear shifter on my bike just gave up working today, as it's never happened before i'm not sure if it's repairable ? or is it done for, ? there is no action with the shifters, when the cable breaks the ratchet in the shifter still clicks, with this there is no clicking, both shifters slide all the way doing nothing.
I've taken the cover off the shifter and as I don't know what it should look like when it's ok, i'm not sure what it'd look like broken, the spring still moves ….I guess i'm off to the local bike shop in the morning, 
but if anyone could answer my question it would be much appreciated .
