Has this bike been stolen?

I was just looking on Gumtree and saw the following bike for sale.

£70 looks a bit cheap to me. How can you tell if it has been stolen?

Edit: Somebody stole my bike from that area but providentially I saw the guy riding it, wrestled it off him, and got it back.

I fear there is somebody feeling just like I felt somewhere in Reading at the moment. Islamic justice seems very appealing when you have just had your bike nicked!

That model has to be close to 10 years old and it was the bottom of the range Carrera from Halfords. I remember it because I bought a virtuoso (one model up) as my first road bike. I doubt he'd get £100 so looks fairly priced. Ask questions if you are unsure.

Ask a few questions, has the seller got a receipt, doesn’t look that cheap, it’s a budget bike.

I’ve bought and sold a few of those and that’s more that I usually pay, but it looks clean, they fetch around £100 on eBay.

Out of the thousands of bikes available at reasonable prices on gumtree/eBay I don't understand why this one is any different to the rest. I'd say it's a risk you take with any bike just as much as this one.

While you at it, see if you can find my bike on Gumtree which WAS stolen on Saturday. Trek Madone 3.5.

my rat bike which is basically the same i tried to sell on gumtree and was offered £30 , i kept it
