Hats with "knobs on"? I've seen plenty of "hats with Knobs in" or is it "Knobs with hats on", but there again it might be "hats on knobs".

Think i'll shut up.

Rythm Thief beat you to it over in the cafe.

I actually plan on sticking some "Solas" reflective tape that I have on my helmet for these dark nights, but I understand that it is frowned upon.

SOLAS tape's excellent - not quite as bright as the 3M 'Diamond' stuff used on roadsigns, but very flexible so it can be stuck to anything. I've got it round parts of my frame and forks.

It would be good round a bobble hat or flat cap, which is also easier to stuff in your pocket.

I think had I come off, to my right, wearing my old ATC2000 helmet camera it would of effected the saftey of my helmet. It would have likely have pushed my head further up, which doesn't sound particually healthy!

The new MUVI should be fine. It's on the top and if I landed head first I reckon that would be pretty much it. Otherwise, the attachment would probably just snap off.

Actually (slight diversion) it is an echo of the present poor design of helmets.

Firstly there is evidence (mainly in the States) where "Snag points" (all those sharp edges and aerodynamic bits) are catching on the ground and instead of sliding the helmet is being decelarated and this is causing the helmet to be ejected.

There is a possibility that a light or camera couls also cause this.

Equally there is the (contraversial) theory that this arrest of the slide transfers energy into a rotation of the spine causing rotational injuries. Again a camera couls exacerbate this.

In both cases the modern helmet in itself is a problem and the exacerbation is really compounding the faults

Yes I have it stuck all round my old commuter, never seen it though from a distance lit up by a light so I can only imagine what it looks like. On my two other road bikes though, I'm not too keen on sticking it on at the moment but probably will when they get older
