don't expect them to treat you with any respect. they see you in the same way they see their customers, just an unfortunately necessary step on the ladder to big profits.

From the experience of relatives of mine that's very unfair on Tescos.

I have just started my new job this week with Tesco.

Should I hang my head in shame?

No, well done for getting a new job, I have just been made redundant and I wouldn't turn Tesco down if the chance came, its dire out there at the moment, and anyway my son works for Tesco.

Tesco is evil I'm afraid. They buy up land just outside towns, then apply for building permission. When the council turns them down because they don't want building on green land, or they have enough supermarkets in town, Tesco appeals, and because the council doesn't want to risk council taxes on defending an expensive court case, they relent. Sometimes they don't bother getting planning approval before building, because they have the 'clout to flout'.

Absolutely not - a new job in today's economic climate is not to be sniffed at. My best mates girlfriend works there and loves it.

Oh, good luck with the new job - by the way.
