So good, we've only had VW in nearly 20 years.
The same VW.
And it was second hand when we bought it.

My wife's Toyota was 17 when we traded it in and my Nissan is 15

£1500 max is all I spend on a car now and that's pushing it. My '99 Astra was bought for £1050 three years ago (One owner from new, FSH) and I've almost doubled the 63k on the clock, there are still eight months MoT left on it.

Look round and you can get some cracking motors for little money.
Knock a nought off for my latest car I bought three years ago.......best £150 I have ever spent :hyper:

That is some over lateral thinking going on there.

Reminds me of the time when i rolled down the front passenger window, my friend rolled down the rear passenger window, and between us we held the bike outside the car while another guy drove us home.

You need one of these Fiats. Wonder why it never made production?

Maybe she wants (rather than needs) a new car and this is a good time to change rather than spending money on the old one (just like the OP wants, rather than needs a new bike)
I was once told a want is a need and a need is a want. It's baffled me ever since because I can't seem to disagree with that.

Update - feel obliged as I am the OP. Got a new car (2009 Golf, quite nice actually) so missus is happy but more importantly, this arrived yesterday. full ultegra and only £750 through Cyclescheme.
Does the colour of your new car match the bike?

Back to the OP, I'm in a similar position actually hence my earlier post regarding PCP and owning nothing after 2 or 3 years paying relatively high monthly costs.
Our car is an 11 year old Citroen xsara Picasso worth probably £500 with 110000 miles and the usual door dents and scratches. So weighing up my options.

Lubbly Jubbly.

Does the colour of your new car match the bike?

This is key to any car buying.

Last car £500 - ran almost faultlessly for 5 years and needed very little work for MOT (Keep in mind NI MOT is a different system)

Current car £5500 - Runs great now after many thousands worth of rebuild and fault finding. Was too financially involved at the point of quitting to actually quit.

I'm about to drive it to work and pray it gets me there, it's Fryday and not my turn to pay
