There is a remedy for that.

If you enable Hard Mode before putting in your first guess you are then forced to use the orange (and green) letters that may come up. But, you won’t be able to use an eliminator word.

Yup. I try not to use them, but sometimes you’ve done 2 or 3 efforts & can see there could be loads of options….try to eliminate several options in one go, even when it doesn’t use all the letters you know.
