We've seen a few people fail or have to drag it out to line six because they've kept their letters in place and had to scroll through umpteen permutations when a completely different word might have meant they were able to eliminate or confirm several different letters in one fell swoop.I did that today between lines two and three. As @winjim says it is only allowed in standard mode.
Called in for inspiration. Iβm on line 2 and for the life of me canβt think of a word for line 3. Have four of the letters with only one in the right place baffled how they fit together.![]()

I would see this as a wasted move but it does depend on your starter word. My trusted starter word gives me good info as to the letters my second word should contain. I wouldn't leave out a yellow because this wastes the opportunity to try for the correct position of said yellow.Has anyone got yellows on the first row and then deliberately ignored them on the second?

Maybe that's where I went wrong!Testament to the power of caffeine. Got to row three and was utterly stumped. Inspiration came with the first sip of coffee.
