Failed on Worlde today
Wordle 416 X/6

Three different words with those last 4 letters, and still didn't get the right one!

But only one in the list of possible wordle answers.

Plus - hard mode reduces ti the a guessing game for many words

Recently I've had a series of days where my wife offers a guess, I ignore it, and she's right. So I listened to her today, and .... she was right! Again!

I wasn't aware of any list of possible wordle answers.

And I thought all three of the ones I tried were more common words than the actual one, so I am really surprised if they are not in the list of possible answers.

I think there was one posted up online somewhere when someone hacked into the code and things like "best starter words" etc were published.

To be honest if someone is bothering to look through that list whilst solving wordle ??? whats the point?? May as well just write down a 5 letter word each morning and proclaim to the cat "I solved my own wordle in one!"

Has anyone else noticed the "theme" of the words changing since the NYT bought Wordle ? They seem, to me at least, to be more likely to be quintessentially American words now ?

No, they always had Americanisms in them, the chap who wrote it was a yank.

I think they always were.

There were a couple of comments here in the first week or two of people doing it about the American spellings.

Nope. 'Twas ever thus.

There are some people who get triggered by what they perceive as US variant spelling and start bellyaching about it. And they were bellyaching right from the start.
