I had another look at Wordiply this morning and decided it doesn't grab me, I can't find fun in the solving process.
I think this is because of my approach to puzzles like Wordle. My strategy is a starter word which reveals one or more vowel and hopefully eliminates/reveals consonants. Then I have the challenge to use knowledge of word construction to build possibilities in subsequent guesses.
If I look at Wordiply the only challenge I can find is to try thinking of long words containing, for example, "red." That's today's and I just don't find it stimulating.
I think Wordle is more satisfying because it aims for a target - the right word. Wordiplay is less targeted and more of an accumulator.
