Have you ever considered what it would be like to be a member of the opposite gender?

All this talk of skirts etc - it does bring to mind..I don't know many guys that like shorts - is there a reason for this?
I love wearing shorts all the time ! I am still wearing shorts on and off the bike even when it is a tad cold round the wotsits ! I'm wearing shorts as i write....is that wrong ???

I love wearing shorts, as I make a LOT of men feel inferior when they look at my legs - tanned and heavily muscled

Thousands of miles a year cycling is hard work, but has it's fringe benefits.

Like ! Facebook styleeee

i for one am glad women are so differant from us blokes because i would not want to spend all the time with people like me talking about sh*t all day long .its nice to get home and talk to the wife that does not revolve around getting inside a women underware . not that they would fit me

I'm very happy being a woman.

Gents, no offence, but I just can't figure out your thought processes at times.

Uranus, I suppose. ;)

Pfffft!! That's pretty funny.

I'd have thought most people have wondeerd about being the other gender, another sexual orientation, and all the other things that make us who and what we are.
Some of them you can try for size, so to speak, some you can't. Doesn't stop one being curious.

I'm saying that every time I've heard someone claim there's a study that shows some kind of significant difference between men's and women's brains, a closer look at it reveals that what it actually shows (if anything) is how little difference there is, and how little of any significance can be inferred from the differences that are found. But of course, "Scientists find that men and women are, well, pretty much the same actually" doesn't make the headlines, because it isn't what people want to believe. "Brainsex" is a bit like climate-change denial, in that it's slightly embarrassing how little they've been able to come up with considering how desperately they need it to be true...

If they were that different then I guess they wouldn't be human brains. As it is, the differences appear to be subtle, but then doctors also admit that very little is yet known how the brain operates.

This may give an insight into how a man's brain works ;)

I've actually been a little envious of the wonderfully close relationship that my wife has with our son - the ability to breastfeed in particular [cue someone quoting the Stan-Loretta scene from Life of Brian!]. I often wonder why it isn't more of an evolutionary advantage for men to be able to breastfeed. I can see the reasons why not, but it strikes me that the advantages are considerable too.

So, yes, I have actually been wondering about what it feels like to have these abilities recently, or more accurately wondering whether there might be an ongoing evolutionary process towards less obvious sexual dimorphism in humans.

one of my kids tried breastfeeding one night when he was in the bed with me and the wife and it was one of the most unpleastant things i have ever felt in my life .

Quite right. My apologies.

I should have said most women I have met. I think it's just a reflection of my limited social contacts. In social terms I mostly hang around with cyclists. All the ones round here I know are men. The women I know at work aren't cyclists.

Thing is, it just goes to show how pernicious it is and why it's important to challenge stupid comments like that one. Otherwise they slip by. I feel bad and stupid for failing to qualify that statement properly. Thanks for picking me up on it.
