I am your Father
I have been a bit cheeky of late & wondered if this was viewed as fair game & has anyone done similar ?

I had previously made a couple of cycle clothing purchases (from well known retailers with long returns policies) & the items were a perfect fit, nothing wrong with them.

Now I like a bargain, so when said items were suddenly in the sale at 50% & more off, I returned the garments as 'wrong size/poor fit' only to re order in the same size at a vast discount *we are talking £115 to £57.50 & £140 to £70 here.

I am yet to find out if my cunning plan has worked or if I have been sussed, if the latter then I am down £7 odd at the P.O with their extortionatlly priced insured service.

So, is all fair in love & online shopping, or am I a lying cheating cad ....

You decide.

I can't say I have ever done it, but it is super annoying when you pay RRP, only to find it cheaper elsewhere or in the same place the next day.

I have no issue with doing that with unused/unworn items. Several retailers give you a year to return so they must anticipate this

Even got one retailer to give a discount after the event. Saved them covering the return postage and the cost of sending new ones (wheels so not a small package). It might even have been a post purchase price match. Can't recall the exact details

I've not done that specifically but I've bought from Amazon before only for the item to come down in price by a few quid within a few days- I phoned them up and asked them about matching it, which they happily did.

You're not doing anything wrong, it's up to them to either approve or reject the returned items. I'm not sure I'd bother for a few quid, but £50 I'd certainly return them and re-buy. To be honest though, once I've bought something (ANYTHING) I don't continually look for stuff, because by Sod's law you will see something better for cheaper in a few days time. I was taught to be happy with what I had :banghead:

I bought an imac many moons ago and a month later a new way better spec was released for the same price, I called by the store on another matter and expressed my annoyance at the chap helping me out, not that I expected anything I was just a bit miffed, he told me to box it back up and return it for a replacement.

You're still only an apprentice bargain hunter if that's got you questioning your morals. A perfectly acceptable money saving strategy if you ask me, there is absolutely no doubt that it will be successful.
