Following on from this thread,

Im curious to know how this poll pans out, has 50% of CC users fainted before?

I say inexplicably because it is understandable that, for instance you faint after giving blood, or perhaps an injection (as happened to a friend at school)

Never, though I do get dizzy spells occasionally and have had a couple of bad turns when I've exerted myself on a very empty stomach.

I got up in the night for a pee and as I reached for the door handle ......
I did hear a distant crash. I woke up on the floor.

Pieceing the evidence together I must have got my hand on the door knob and as I fell my weight must have propelled the door so that the handle hit me in the ribs cracking a rib or two and then continues to smashed itself against the wall. The china knob smashed to tiny bits. (That was the distant crash).

I took it to the quack but he wasn't impressed. Fortunately it's been a one off.

My husband did when having a wee - apparently if you are a bloke the act of weeing can put pressure on the vegus? nerve and cause you to pass out. He went down like a sack of spuds, but luckily had finished pissing at that point.

This happened to me a few days before crimbo, felt a bit run down, got home from work had a 20 minute kip on the sofa, got up had a wee next thing I remember I wake up on bathroom floor with a headache then puke up.:blush:

Felt light headed a few times after lifting heavy things or strenuous exercise but never fainted.

Mate of mine used to faint quite regular when we were kids. Never found out why though. Just used to put it down to him being really skinny and not ever eating apart from sweets and crisps

In the middle of my wedding ceremony, only to be taken out the back to get some fresh air and return with dogshit on my shoe the smell from which slowly permeated the front pews. Oh the fun times we had.....

Ah, romance!

I voted no, but now remember that as a child I had spells of fainting - finally explained when an irregular heartbeat was diagnosed.

I passed out once as a child. No idea why so i voted yes.

the other time i almost passed out there was a man with a scalpel hacking out an ingrown toenail when i had declined anaesthetic.

all other occasion have been too pissed to climb into a car, let alone drive one.

I've fainted before, but never whilst at the helm of a vehicle - only done so whilst skateboarding (silly sport i know) on a hot summer evening, without having had anything to eat/drink that day.... next thing I know, I wake up in hospital...
