Have you ever ridden without lights?

I have lights on my bike but not using them all summer the batterys on the front light have gone dead and its cheaper to buy another light than it is the batterys " crazy "

Even from an earlier age I was always in to sufficient lighting for my bike.

The only times I been without lights is in clear daylight.

Occasionally cycled without lights home from the pub in my teens/early twenties. One night, drunk as a lord, i was stopped by the police and told, 'if i was intent on riding my bike, to ride on the pavement.'

Have always used lights for years now tho

Not exactly riding without lights but I used to only carry one set and have been caught out where the light is working well when I leave but is just a dim thing when I get home

Got caught out by the tunnels at the NW end of Lake Garda.
Pitch black, Kilometre or more long. Very, very scary and I was a bloody fool for carrying on.
Not big, not clever, but I was a long way from base camp and desperate to get home and retracing my steps would have been a different nightmare.

Here in China and also when I'm in Vietnam, I rarely (if ever) see another cyclist with lights, except for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been caught out without lights some years back. Went to the pub (seems a theme starting on this topic) stayed too long and had a 10 mile ride home. I got home alright although I was on the pavement by the time I got home.
